For carbon buyers

What exists today, and what does not.

Bhu Carbon is pre-first-issuance. If you are evaluating a removal project with us, this is the short version of what can be diligenced now — and the reporting contract for everything that cannot.

Available now

What you can inspect today.

  • Measurement protocol

Sampling depths, the analyte panel, immobile-tracer mass balance and the conversion basis.

  • Per-zone interpretation models

Five agro-climatic zones, including the two that are hard cases for us.

  • Feedstock qualification

Lot assay, trace-metal thresholds, and a chained custody record from quarry to spread event.

  • Data integrity design

Append-only field and lab records, versioned plot geometry, provenance on every row.

Measurement · MRV

The chain every removal figure will pass through.

Each step is set out in full, with its sampling depths, analytes and uncertainty treatment, on the measurement method.

  1. Field

Chosen against the zone model before any sample is taken.

    Candidate plot

  2. Plot geometry

Boundaries are versioned. Every measurement names the geometry in force when it was taken.

    Versioned

  3. Baseline

Georeferenced, multi-depth, before a single tonne of rock. The one step that cannot be recovered later.

    0–15 · 15–30 cm

  4. Soil sampling

The same plots resampled after application, against their own before-state.

    Across seasons

  5. Lab analysis

Total elemental composition, exchange chemistry, bulk density and texture.

    XRF · CEC · BD

  6. Weathering signal

Mobile elements against immobile tracers give depletion directly, without assuming where the rock landed.

    Ti · Zr · Nb

  7. Carbon quantification

Concentrations become tonnes per hectare, less the emissions of every operation upstream.

    t CO₂ ha⁻¹, net

  8. Uncertainty

Propagated through the calculation, not appended to it. A figure without an interval is not a measurement.

    ± interval

  9. Reporting & verification

Registry pathway under evaluation. Independent verification follows first issuance.

Reporting

How a figure will reach you.

Every removal figure will be published as a record, never a bare number. This is the template, empty because nothing has been published into it.

Removal figure — template

Category (measured, modelled, …)
Plots included
Plot geometry version
Model version
Sampling depth and sample count
Period covered
Uncertainty interval
Net of operational emissions

Happened, and was checked

Verified
A measured figure checked by an independent verifier against a named registry protocol.
Measured
From samples taken and analysed on named plots, reported with its uncertainty interval.

Calculated

Modelled
Calculated by a named model version from field inputs, not read from the plot’s own samples.
Estimated
An approximate figure from partial data, published with the basis it rests on.

Has not happened

Projected
What a model expects a planned deployment to remove. Not removal.
Potential
A theoretical ceiling for an area or a rock. Not a plan.
Target
An intention. Not a result.

Carbon credits
Pre-first issuance.
No credit issued and no removal figure published. When one is, it will name its plots, geometry version, model version and uncertainty interval.
Registry pathway
Under evaluation.
Isometric and Puro.earth have materially different evidence requirements, and the choice shapes the data model, so it is being made deliberately.
Third-party verification
Planned alongside the verification pathway.
Not yet undertaken. Claiming it before first issuance would be meaningless.
Agronomic outcomes
Measured before attributed.
We report soil chemistry, which we measure. No yield figure is attributed to basalt without a trial designed to show it.
